Thank you for your interest at J’s English School.
Who We Are
J’s English School (www.js-english.com) is a family school located in Obu City, Aichi Prefecture, a quiet town in the Nagoya suburbs. The school has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary and is very proud of its bond with the local community. Parents of the children attending our classes become friends, and often enroll too. Having two or sometimes three siblings attend J’s classes is also common. Many of our students advance to our young adult classes and even our adult classes. We also have several kindergartens in the area where we go out and teach. The school strives to maintain this friendly, positive, family-like environment for the students, teachers, and staff.

You can think on your feet and show initiative.

What We Expect from You
The school has a curriculum in place and provides teachers with lesson plans and the necessary materials for classes. Therefore, we ask the candidate to be both willing to adopt and follow our teaching methodology but be ready to step in and contribute where necessary. The candidate should also be flexible, maintain excellent rapport with staff and colleagues and be able to accept constructive advice.
Teachers are solely responsible for the adequate preparation and management of their classes. They must also complete student evaluations bi-annually, contribute a short culturally based article to the school’s newsletter, attend teachers’ meetings and organize their workspace. They are also required to be present on our annual events that take place on Saturdays and one Sunday (Halloween or Christmas party, two demo days).
