Description

Lingo English School is a family-run school looking for a reliable and energetic native English speaker to teach students of all ages. The position is Full-time (Part-time also available) and involves teaching adults and children age 3 and up in our school. We are seeking someone who loves children. We provide teaching training and we work together to make creative and fun lessons.

The applicant must be outgoing and friendly. We ask that the applicant have sincere interest in the Japanese culture, but speaking Japanese is not required. The applicant must be willing to relocate to the Mito area. Our working hours are typically Tuesday to Saturday from 1 to 9 pm. There are six weeks of paid vacation yearly. The applicant must commit to a 2-year contract, which is renewable. A bonus will be awarded upon completion of the contract. We will provide VISA sponsorship and help the applicant find an apartment near the school.

Mito is an enjoyable place to live, with easy access to nature and to both modern and traditional Japanese culture. Our school is a short walk from a large shopping mall with a movie theater. Attractions such as the seaside, the famous pottery village of Kasama, and the capital city Tokyo are just a short distance away. We are a small, expanding school that strive for excellence and also believe in having fun.

Job description
-Teach English to both children and adults at our school
-Teach private lessons to adults outside of our school (at cafes, etc.)
-Plan lessons and prepare conversation activities for lessons
-Create lesson plans
-Plan and participate in all school events
-Help prepare activities for events such as summer camp and Halloween
-Position begins ASAP.
-Training will be provided.

Contract and Benefits:
-The successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract through March 2023 with the option of renewal and a salary based on teaching experience and overall performance.
-A 50,000 yen bonus will be awarded upon completion of the contract.
-The teacher will earn 3,000 yen per hour for any private lessons outside of our school.
-We also offer additional salary benefits to teachers in the following situations. All amounts are paid as a one-time bonus upon completion of the contract.
• Master’s degree in TESOL/TEFL holders: 50,000 yen
• CELTA holders: 30,000 yen
• TEFL Certificate holders (obtained on-site, inclusive of practicum): 30,000 yen
• TEFL Certificate holders (obtained online, minimum 120 hours): 20,000 yen

Holidays:
-Sundays and Mondays are days off.
-Six weeks of paid vacation will be provided yearly, including 1 week in the summer, 1 week for Golden Week, and 2 weeks for Christmas.

Lingo English School can assist if necessary with:
-Finding accommodation.
-Visa sponsorship
-Emergency translating
